Burundi: Kinyovu

This fresh crop lot comes from Kinyovu, a private coffee washing station owned by the Sogestal Kayanza. The farms surrounding the station are at 1800 meters above sea level and average only about half a hectare in size. This crop is their second participation in the IWCA Burundi Program. IWCA Burundi members (665) produced 231 bags of specialty coffee in micro lots and this one was the winner in the "Best of Burundi" competition. Over ninety percent of these producers were women.

Surprisingly thick-bodied for a Burundi coffee, we get notes of ceylon, baking spice, toffee, and vanilla.
